Senior Software Engineer

Job Description:

This is an opportunity to design and develop leading edge technology for WorldDoc, a national leader in care management systems.  While the day-to-day focus will be on software engineering, the employee is expected to use knowledge of and occasionally participate in related disciplines including database engineering, project management, product management, quality assurance, and configuration management to work more effectively with those areas.  Excellent technical and communication skills are required.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, understand, and provide feedback on functional requirements.
  • Propose technical designs from functional requirements
  • Estimate work hours required to implement a technical design
  • Develop, test, and debug new functionality, and maintain/enhance existing functionality in C# 2.0
  • Maintain/enhance existing functionality in ASP code (VBScript) or VB.NET 1.1 as needed
  • Comply with existing processes, including requirements for source control and documentation
  • Tracking hours by project no less frequently than weekly
  • Using Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, and SQL 2005 Management studio to produce documentation
  • Using Outlook for communication and coordination with others

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 Year Degree required in engineering, computer science or 6 years of equivalent experience required
  • Skilled in C# 2.0
  • Able to create technical designs from functional requirements and estimate the work they require
  • Able to understand and develop SQL 2000/2005 stored procedures and functions written in T-SQL
  • Able to work with ASP code (VBScript) or VB.NET 1.1
  • A "quick study," willing to take on challenges and provide high levels of customer service
  • Able to multi-task on several projects simultaneously
  • A strong desire to be a contributing part of a world-class technology team.
  • An entrepreneurial attitude that is always looking for improvements
  • Microsoft certification is a plus, but not required
  • Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
