What started as an endeavor to empower individuals to take an active role in their personal health management has also become a charitable cause. WorldDoc’s founding mission now extends to the community at large through the WorldDoc Charitable, Education & Research Foundation, Inc.
Founded in 2004, the WorldDoc Charitable, Education & Research Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization governed by an independent board of directors. Since its inception, the WorldDoc Foundation has sought and secured strategic partnerships with organizations that make it their mission to improve the lives of vulnerable groups, including seniors, homeless individuals, single parents, Spanish-speaking families and persons with HIV, just to name a few.
The WorldDoc Foundation is proud to collaborate through site licenses, community licenses and other initiatives with community partners to provide uninsured, at-risk and vulnerable populations with access to WorldDoc’s care management systems.
The Foundation’s partners to-date include:
- Healthy Ocala (Ocala, FL)
- Area Health Education Consortium (AHEC)
- Los Angeles County Medical Center
- Health Access Las Vegas
- HELP of Southern Nevada
- Nevada Public Health Trust
- Southern Nevada Health District
- State of Nevada Division of Aging
- The Shade Tree Shelter
- University of Nevada, Las Vegas
- University of Nevada, School of Medicine
With a national and international focus, the Foundation’s work is extending beyond Nevada’s boundaries to communities across the country.
In addition to providing at-risk groups access to WorldDoc solutions, the Foundation is involved in a number of other initiatives, including securing funding to enhance content related to HIV prevention, prenatal care, diabetes management and school-based initiatives.
The most recent addition to the Foundation’s services is www.myhealthnv.org. This site is targeted at uninsured and at-risk populations in Nevada to provide users with access to information, laboratory testing services, prescription drug discounts and a diabetes management program. Similar sites are planned for other states and communities. The Foundation plans to continue adding services to help vulnerable groups gain access to affordable health care resources.
